Keep Busy is our Motto!

Hi everyone!

Wow, it's been an extremely busy few weeks here at Calligraphy Katrina. It seems everyone, including Katrina, is getting married. And we couldn't be happier! However, weddings aren't the only things on Katrina's to-do list. Shakespeare themed parties, baby showers, designer events and more are happening and all at once! Check out some of Katrina's amazing work below...

Big News!

Happy Monday!

We're excited to announce a new blog series here at Calligraphy Katrina! As you may or may not know, our very own Katrina is engaged!

Tony Nguyen and Katrina Centeno
Every week, we'll be sharing Katrina's journey along the road to her wedding day. You'll get to see what she's planning for not just one wedding, but two! That's right, Katrina will be having one wedding here in Los Angeles and her second in the Philippines in 2015. For all you future brides out there, this is the perfect opportunity for you to relate because we all know that planning a wedding is not easy! For Katrina, working in the wedding industry can be quite exciting but hectic, now adding hers to the mix is going to be quite the roller coaster. So we hope you join us for the ride!

For today's first post, we're going to share the magical day when Tony proposed...

The gorgeous ring with blue sapphires!
Kat and Tony met on the 26th of December, 2006 with the intention to casually date.  By around Valentine's Day, 2007, they knew they wanted to commit to each other after a night drive to Palos Verdes.  They have been inseparable since.  Fast forward 7 years, on Valentine's Day 2014, Tony had the ultimate plan.  The night before, he made her a floral arrangement.  Valentine's Day started with brunch at Joan's on Third in West Los Angeles followed by a stroll around the Norton Simon Museum Pasadena.  Before dinner, Tony adamantly requested for Kat to wear a pair of Sapphire earrings he presented as a gift.  They dined at The Royce Restaurant in the Langham Hotel and went for a night drive to Palos Verdes.  On the same spot, at Abalone Beach, they started talking about the same things they did 7 years ago.  Tony finally said, "You know I love you, right?  Thank you for being so patient."  He then goes down one knee, and the rest is history!

Thanks for joining us on day one! Please stay tuned because Katrina has a lot to share with you all.
Countdown to the weddings:

Happy Thanksgiving-For Philippines with Love Relief Fund

Happy Thanksgiving to all our loved ones!
We want to thank each and every one of you for being part of our Calligraphy Katrina world and make it what it is today - one of the happiest most successful years yet!

As the holiday season approaches we want to take a break from our usual posts and talk about something important to the CKMDP team.

At Calligraphy Katrina we see the holidays as a time of giving, unity, and family.
The recent devastation caused by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines strikes close to home as it is Katrina’s home country.

Thankfully everyone survived however the lasting affects are disastrous, not only for immediate family but for the entire nation. Still, it hurts to see the tears shed and all that has been lost, never to be the same.

Many lives and many homes were destroyed. In this time of tragedy we pray for healing and feel it is important to unite and help our fellow brothers and sisters in their time of need and struggle.

We have teamed up with Utterly Engaged at (www.utterlyengaged.com) as part of the “For Philippines with Love” campaign to bring immediate assistance to those that have suffered losses.

From now until December 31, 2013 Calligraphy Katrina will donate 20% of proceeds that come to us with the code UE4PIWITHLOVE. In addition, you will receive a 10% discount as a thank you for supporting this disaster relief fund.

We hope that in the spirit of the Holidays you join us. With your help we can help we can bring food, shelter, and other basic needs to those in dire need.

Calligraphy Katrina offers calligraphy, stationery, and many other services. If you need holiday cards, tags, place cards, always remember, we can provide those for you at a discount and you’ll know that your purchase contributed to a great cause.

Thank you to all who participate in advance. For more information and other participating vendors please visit www.utterlyengaged.com).

For more information on Calligraphy Katrina, please visit www.callgiraphykatrina.com or email us at Katrina@calligraphykatrina.com.

Remember, every little bit helps!

Thank you.
Cheers and Happy Holidays!

This is Halloween. Everybody SCREAM!

"When witches go riding...and black cats are seen...
'tis 36 days until Halloween."

Dear friends, family and colleagues; We don't think anyone is more excited for Halloween than us here at the CKMDP office! We talk about it every day that we get in. So today, we decided to do our own little Nightmare Before Christmas inspired photo shoot! Jack Skellington is the star of our shoot. Who isn't in love with those hollow eyes? Hehe

We hope this shoot inspires you to think outside of the box for any special event that you are throwing. We all love Halloween parties; the costumes, the music, the decor. It's such a fun time of the year, so let's get a little more creative for this year's Halloween party!

We love this idea of using pumpkins instead of traditional place cards. Even if you don't need place cards for your party, pumpkins with your guests' names on them would make adorable party favors.

Happy All Hallow's Eve straws in cute Halloween shapes and colors.

Katrina's font "Misty" is very whimsical.
Great for a Halloween celebration.

Jack's Lament from The Nightmare Before Christmas

Happy Halloween, everyone!

Calling all Brides! Bring your Bridesmaids!

Hello friends, family and colleagues!  It's been a long week for us.  And a very HOT one too.  This may have been the hottest Labor Day weekend we have ever experienced.  We hope you were all able to stay cool.  In sunny Southern California, it seems like it's Summer five months out of the year.  We all know this to be true!

With summer ending and the kids heading back to school,  everyone is spending more time online.  We are constantly Tweeting, Pinning, Instagramming and Facebooking.  We have been particularly invested in Pinterest lately!  We actually sold a few of our items in our shop thanks to Pinterest!  Our biggest seller is our "Be my Bridesmaid" card.  Good thing most of our Bridesmaids are a little less crazy than these girls.

This is our biggest seller! Our "Be my Bridesmaid" card. Pack of 5 for $10. This is such a cute way to ask your sisters and friends to be your bridesmaids.

Our "Because You Are..." card is another one that people love. A sweet and simple way to show your appreciation for someone close to you. $3.75 each.

"Her Hubby and His Wifey" chair signs are very popular. It adds a little personality to your sweetheart table!

We are definitely going to keep Pinning, Tweeting, Instagramming and Facebooking!  It's some thing that we love to do.  It helps us show people all around what we offer and what we can do.  Don't forget to follow us on all four sites!

Destination...Theme Wedding!!

Happy HUMP Day, friends, family and colleagues!  Did you know that Wednesday is called Hump Day, because it is the middle of the week?  It's all coming together now, isn't it?  Anyway, we hope that your weekend was wonderful!  Maybe you went on vacation?  Some brides like to get away, not only for their honeymoons, but also for their weddings!

Doesn't that just sound amazing?  Getting away for your most special day?  For most of us, that's a dream that is a little too expensive to come true...  However, a great alternative to destination weddings are THEME weddings.  In fact, you can even have a TRAVEL theme wedding.  It's like getting away, without actually getting away!

Here's an invitation that we had the pleasure of doing the calligraphy for.
Super cute travel theme wedding invitations. We LOVE it.

This is an invitation we did for a baseball theme wedding.
Great for a couple that are huge sports fanatics!

Here is a "Thank You" note we did from the bride and groom at their English Garden theme wedding.
Very sweet and cozy.

Who doesn't like getting away? We like it. But we LOVE pretending even more.

Cheers, daydreamers!!
