V.I.P. Arrival

As stationers and creatives its not only the love for the art of writing on paper but for the art of writing and presentation to make people feel presence, delight, and grand.  We all grew up with the fairy tale stories of receiving wax sealed gold ladden over sized hand written invitations to the palace up til today we see how fine paper and goods now carry out the same love of receiving gifts, invitations, and social presence.  Whether it be for the joy of celebrations on occasion or networking at a mixer; the warm heart and care that goes into the design of the way a word is written or said sets that tone and timeless quality at any given special event.  Today here at Calligraphy Katrina Maison du Papier we offer these following services which you all may be familiar with....

Bellissime Lettere (Translated directly from Italian, Bellissime Lettere means beautiful letters - which is exactly what this product showcases. Katrina takes her natural talent of writing beautiful calligraphy to the next level. Commissioned Artwork would be the best way to describe as each letter is drawn and decorated, ready for framing.)

and

Couture Medium writing on anything but paper, we can upcycle on the most intriguing fine pieces: mirrors, window panes, chairs, vinyls, clocks, flower pots and more.  Along with our Couture Medium services we can frames, chalkboards, and mirrors we can provide for your special event through our  Regalo Rental Services.

As of late Calligraphy Katrina is branching out to personalized/customized aisle runners for your V.I.P guests:  special events, PR, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays these aisle runners provides the grandiose presence and hospitable treatment for that moment of arrival.  We of course see that perfect example at a wedding when everyone stands to honor the first entrance of the bride as the doorways part.  as well as the example of limos and fancy cars pulling up to the red carpet.  Here are a few examples of our calligraphy on aisle runners.

Cheers to the V.I.Ps of your upcoming season and events.

Day of Stationery for the ABC OC Coordinator Luncheon at Foundry Vintage

As always it is a privilege to work with and contribute back to the community that I work in.  I thoroughly enjoy watching how the industry is consistently growing, changing, and flourishing.  It is inspiring to see the innovative sense and imaginary creativity of event designers and coordinators.  This past Tuesday, June 11th, 2013, the ABC OC Coordinator's Luncheon was hosted at Found Vintage Rentals in Fullerton, CA.  Topic of the season for the June meeting was on fashion styling by personal stylist Leslie Christen and beauty tips and demonstrations by Design Visage

Here is the link to the listed and contributors to the gleaming afternoon affair.  Included in the link are stunning photos provided by Studio EMP

Thank you Association of Bridal Consultants for hosting and creating a forum for the industry to have the ability to mingle, network, and discuss the issues within our industry as well as absorb advice and mentorship from colleagues throughout LA and Orange County.  As well it is always nice to continually learn new techniques and how to carry ones self in an esteemed manner.  Cheers to such a wonderful event.  And Cheers to a lovely afternoon luncheon affair.

Glad to have sponsored ABC OC once again.  Always love from Calligraphy Katrina.

Timeless Touch of Craftsmanship: Vacheron at LACMA

The newest inspiration cones from the craftsmanship of Vacheron.  As I was working on their stationaery for their grand event at LACMA, I was learning that quality and craftsmanship are not to be compensated.  It's the details that make the biggest different.

If you didn't know Vacheron Constantin is a watch brand that has dotted the "i" and crossed the "t" for almost a century.  They follow the Haute Horologerie Spirit of watch making and timeless pieces.  At this event everything from invitation to menu, to table, location, and guests were treated to the finest finishing touches of Vacheron values in technique, aesthetics, and finishing.  In short statements as written like a timeless legend in the invitation:  "sharing our passion, passing on traditions, openness to the world, pursuite of excellence, and fostering creativity."  And lastly, in words of Francois Constantin, "  Do better if possible...and that is always possible."

Honoring Amy Pascal and Ralph Rucci: LGBT Event

One of the perks of this 5th year of Calligraphy Katrina Maison du Papier is being available to give back to sponsor, and attend special events that give back to communities.  Like prior posts on Giving Back with CKMDP and community support the growth of CKMDP means activism in communities and humanities.  It's nice to have wellness development for my company and the CKMDP team.

Mid March my best friend and I attended An Evening Honoring Amy Pascal and Ralph Rucci: Benefiting Youth Services oft the LA Gay & Lesbian Center.  The event was held at the Beverly Wiltshire and sponsord by Sony Pictures Entertainment, Sax Fith Avenue, and Wells Fargo  Click here to read more about the purpose of the event:  About

In contribution to the event CKMDP contributed thousands of place cards were written for the large audience that was in attendance of this fun, inspiring, and fabulous evening.Cheers to Amy Pascal and Ralph Rucci in their leadership, service, and contributions to the LGBT community.  There were many presenters and honored speakers through the evening.  Unfortunately the best of shaky hands and a distant table, the photos of these amazing guests came out way to blurry to post.

And not going to lie!!!  It's nice to end with some good sugar!!!!  I love sweets!

I'm glad that my team and I are able to support each other through our daily life, hopes, and dreams.  It's even better to know that we're here to spread the love to others too.  Thanks BFF for spending this awesome sponsorship opp with me.

Expanding at ABC OC 2013

This March as the spring season was blooming, the opportunity to grow myself also was in bloom.  The Association of Bridal Consultants of Orange County (ABC OC) hosted a delightfully decadent event at the Hyatt Regency of Newport Beach on March 12, 2013.  Many of those in our industry were able to mingle, expand, exhale, and discuss our questions, comments, ideas, and strategies in our participation of event planning.

Throughout the evening we were able to discuss and be challenged on our perspectives of how we all work in this industry.  Here are a gist points that Table 2 discussed and affirmed each other with.
-Focus on one thing and be excited about it. If you are excited others will be excited too.
-Let go and delegate to grow
-Rotary Clubs for service hours. "free labor"  There are students trying to attain service hours for non-profits, charity events, and giving to contribute back to our communities.
-Forget about "competition" and begin focusing on what you do best and educate your clients on what you CAN do best and CAN do for them.
-Know your value and justify your value.  We have to believe in what we are valued for and worth the price .-YOUR TEAM:  this is your family, these are your best and worst assets.  Find a SOLID and CONSISTENT team. They take care of each other, and as an employer we take care of them too.  We balance each other.
-BRAND:  Your brand is an extension of you!!!!

Another mixer presented to us was a "THINK TANK" discussion.  We were to throw out and discuss our biggest successes and difficulties. With this being asked of us this is what Table 2 came up with in affirmation, advice, praises, and advocation for one another.
-With social media as our main advertisement and endorsement; we have lost the face to face value.  It's nice to have open house once in a while. Redefine and clarify face value.
-Be invitational:  invite people into an open house, offer discounts, and offer incentives etc!
-Reading up leads to keeping up!!!!  Read personal and professional growth books.  Think and Grow Rich, by Napoleon Hill. Here are some examples:  Thoughts are things, whatever you conceive you can achieve, to build we need to be open to new possibilities, and pass on your wisdom.
-Attitude:  Servant to servant.  Be there for each other.

Over all you can see that this forum has allowed some expanding, exhale and new perspectives for the year 2013.  It was good and fulfilling day of wellness.  Here are pictures of the delightful event.

Throwback to Harsanik 2013

About 2 and half weeks ago we had our debut at Harsanik 2013:  The Premier Bridal Event.  It was our delight to present stationery and ideas to a plethora of beautiful brides.  One of the fun ideas for this vibrant and bountiful spring bridal show was welcoming our guests into our canopy with sweets and love.
